CASE STUDY TWO
Palace Cinema and Bingo Hall, Devizes
This beautiful old building in Devizes Market Place houses the cinema upstairs and the bingo hall downstairs. The two are run separately, with different opening hours and entrances but because they share fire escapes it was important that a full site evacuation was possible. The installation also had to be fast and efficient so as not to disrupt trade for either business.
Because of this our designs were based on using the Hyfire Radio system. Our quotation to the customer was provided with site drawings showing the location of the devices, this was confirmed with the local authorities prior to the works commencing.
Because of the construction of the building the installation would not be straightforward, even with the radio system. The Bingo Hall has a high level ceiling and a false floor that could not support high level access machinery, this meant that a scaffolding tower had to be hired and positioned beneath each point.
This is where our flexibility and friendly service comes into its own, we agreed with the customer and a local electrical company that our installation would take place at the same time as the high level lighting units being replaced, this saved the customer money, but more importantly, it also saved a lot of inconvenience.
The system was successfully installed in 8 hours, without disrupting either business and is fully compliant to the British and European Standards.
